In this contribution is very briefl presented the selected mutual contribution of landscape-ecological and environ- mental research. It is the generalization of theoretical-meta-scientifi landscape ecological knowledge and principles e.g. principle of mobility of species, principle of redistribution of nutrients, principle of energetic flw, principle of biotic diversity, principle of landscape stability and changes, as well as principle of inseparability of geographical and ecological entities, approaches and principles required for the environmental research. On the other hand the results of environmental research can contribute to the development of basic, applied and theoretical-meta-scientifi aspects of environment. In the next part of this paper are shortly removed the selected most considerable theoretical-metascientifi landscape ecological contributions elaborated by the fellow workers of the Institute of landscape ecology of SAS for the development of the theoretical and meta-scientifi aspects of environment and its science.
