Contents of Mn, Pb, and Cd in dusty pollutants, soil, beech Fagus sylvatica and spruce Picea abies decrease in the direction from the epicenter. In all localities beech and spruce accumulated the examined elements significantly and thus they can be used as indicators for monitoring the pollution of atmosphere. Concentrations in beech leaves (mg.kg-1) were 802-1372 Mn, 11-47 Pb, 2.3-3.5 Cd. One-year-old spruce needles contained (mg.kg-1) 528-896 Mn, 12-45 Pb, 1.8-3.5 Cd; 2-yr-old needles, 607-1264 Mn, 39-67 Pb and 2.8-4.5 Cd.
